Barbara Kartchner Kenworthy was born on May 19, 1955, in Ogden, Utah, to Kenneth and Nila Kartchner. She grew up in Clearfield, Utah, and attended Clearfield High School. After graduating, she moved to St. George, Utah, to attend Dixie College, where she met her husband, Larry Kenworthy. They were married on June 6, 1974, in the Manti Utah Temple and share 51 years of marriage together.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who lovingly raised her four children while living in Utah, California, and Saudi Arabia. She cherished her time living overseas and the experiences it brought to her family. Professionally, Barbara worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician, where she dedicated 15–20 years helping children with special needs in the Washington County School District.
In retirement, Barbara remained deeply involved in her community. She volunteered regularly at Tuacahn, St. George Musical Theater, the Huntsman World Senior Games, and many other local events. She was also a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous callings throughout her life.
Barbara loved staying active and could often be found participating in workout groups, hiking with friends, or enjoying the local theater scene. At home, she delighted in gardening, sewing, cooking, and crafting. She also cherished camping trips throughout Southern Utah with her husband, Larry. Above all, Barbara was deeply devoted to her family and was a constant presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always offering her love and support.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Larry Kenworthy; her daughter, Trisha Burt (Louie Burt); her son, Trent Kenworthy (Samyhe Kenworthy); her daughter, Tina Kalra (Hitesh Kalra); and her son, Travis Kenworthy (Rachael Kenworthy); as well as 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on January 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George Utah Morningside Stake Center, located at 881 S. River Road, St. George, Utah.
