After a week and a half in the hospital on life support, Carolynn “Charlie” Loann Schultz passed away on October 2, 2025 at 12:51pm. She fought as hard as she could to the very end. Ultimately, it was her body, not her spirit, that failed. She passed on quietly but surrounded by her not so quiet family...and, if you knew Charlie, you know she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Charlie was the sweetest, most genuine, most caring person you could ever know. Her entire life she put the needs of others above her own. She opened her heart and her home to anyone in need. A nurturer by nature, she touched more lives than she could ever have possibly known. Whether it was in her role as a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a nanny, a daycare teacher, or a school bus driver, she was always there...teaching children and providing them the love, support, and guidance that they needed to succeed.

In a cold, hard world, Charlie was a constant source of warmth and a soft touch. No matter the circumstances, she always chose to see the best in people. She impacted the lives of so many different people, but it is in her grandchildren where you can see her influence the most. It is seen in the way they love, in their capacity for forgiveness, in their random acts of kindness, and in their manners and their compassion. Mostly though, it is seen in their true concern for the well-being and the happiness of everyone around them. That is her true legacy. That will be her most lasting impression and knowing that will make her smile down on all of us. This world was a better place with Charlie in it.

Charlie is survived by her mother Lois; her husband of 49 years, Matthew; their children, Amber (Scott) Smith, Jacob (Kesha) Schultz, LeAnna (Keith) Singler, and Jennifer Schultz; and nine grandchildren.
