Doris Louise Love, 87, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, at her daughter Kay Love’s home on Palomar Mountain, California.
Doris was born on July 23,1936, in Manti, Utah, to Ralph and Margaret Shoemaker. She was the cherished sister of Chelnisha, Lenore, and Carol Ann. Growing up in Manti, Ogden, Clearfield and Roy Utah, she graduated high school with dreams that would lead her to a life full of creativity, and adventure and a devotion to the LDS church.
She first married Bernie Wagner, and together they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Pamela and Tamara. Doris’s life journey took her to San Diego and the enchanting islands of Hawaii,
Her second marriage to Bobby Joe Love brought her a third loving daughter, Kay Love . The family made their home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Later Doris married Boyd Pace from New Harmony, Utah. These years were filled with the simple pleasures she loved most: gardening, growing flowers, baking, and sewing. Her garden was a testament to her green thumb. She loved animals and throughout her life she had many horses and raised chickens, rabbits, and a favorite goat missy.
Later retired she resided in St. George, Utah She loved dogs and never stopped talking about her dog Chia.
Her talents were boundless, especially in sewing, knitting, and various crafts. Whether it was a piece of clothing or a delicate knit, Doris could create it with magical skill. She shared this gift with many during her years working for House of Fabrics in Los Angeles and St. George.
A proud member of the Sassy Seniors, Doris loved dancing and creating costumes.
Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Nicolas and Jessica Roberts Macias, and Lacy and Jace Allen, and three great-grandchild, Jasper Love Geesaman, Cloud Oren Macias and Cambriah Lauren Hera Macias.
Doris Louise Love will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and dear friends.
