Our beloved brother Earl Douglas Glade, 88, passed away on June 26th, 2025, in St. George, Utah, and was joyfully reunited with his beloved eternal companion Sandy.
Doug was born to Alyce and Earl Glade in Salt Lake City on February 18t, 1937.
Doug was the first boy and second oldest child in his family of three girls and three boys. When he was ten, he moved with his family from Salt Lake City, Utah to Boise, Idaho. He graduated from Boise High school and then began working for Albertson's Ice Cream Plant as a hand-dipper.
Doug met the love of his life, the wonderful Sandy Smith who he loved and cherished her throughout their marriage. He was a devoted and loving husband. Doug and Sandy were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June 1, 1962. Sandra passed away on January 19th, 2009.
Doug received a certificate of appreciation when he retired in 2000 after 46 years of employment at Albertson's Ice Cream Plant.
Doug faithfully served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life.
Doug enjoyed fishing, boating, and creating works of art. He was regularly involved with Scouts as a merit badge counselor and a summer Cub Scout camp counselor. He and Sandy routinely provided rides to young adults from the care center and assisted with foster care. His life was filled with service wherever and whenever he was needed.
We will miss Doug for his willingness to serve, fishing lessons for nephews and nieces, his artwork, and his gentle and caring disposition.
Doug has been welcomed by his beloved wife Sandy, his loving Parents, and his helpful brother Steve. Remaining here on earth are his sibling Joan, Carol, Tom and Kristi.
