Elaine Barton
July 8, 1953 – August 28, 2026
Elaine Barton, lovingly known for many years as “Andy Lane” and later as “Candy Lane” because she always had a treat to share, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 73..Elaine came into this world with her own unique way of seeing things. She loved the Beatles and Elvis, wasn’t afraid to push the boundaries just a little, and if she put her mind to something, she was going to make it happen for better or worse. She found her place working in the medical field as a hospital unit coordinator, where she became knowledgeable and invaluable to the doctors she worked with. If the family had a medical question, Elaine was the one we called. Chances were, she knew where to find the answer (even before the internet).
The greatest part of Elaine’s life was her family. She adored her nieces and nephews and especially loved the generations that came after her. She stepped in as a second mom to Allison’s family. She rarely missed a family party and could be counted on to arrive with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies or Green Jell-O. Underneath it all was a very big heart that simply loved her people. Her core belief is that families will be forever.
Elaine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She lived for concerts, trips to Disneyland, reading books, Hallmark movies, gameshows, family gatherings, and making memories with the people she loved. She watched her digital photo album on rotation, seeing the faces she loved and reliving all her good memories.
We will miss our Candy Lane more than words can say. We know that the family gatherings will continue and she will be at them all! Friday September 4, 2026.
