On Saturday evening, July 4, 2026, Enid McArthur Heaton returned home to her Heavenly Parents.

Enid was born on December 15, 1926 in St. George, Utah, to Etta Leah Morris and Wilford Woodruff McArthur and is the youngest of seven children. She spent her childhood in St.George, graduated from Dixie Jr. College and then attended BYU, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. She then taught in the Alpine School District.

On December 21, 1949 she married Maurice Kay Heaton in the St. George Temple. They became the parents of six children: Kaylene Wahlquist (Clayton), Cynthia Hamblin (Harold), Gordon McKay (Julie), Gregory Dean (Natalie), Joseph Brent (Marci), and Jeffrey Eric (Shirleen).

Kay and Enid lived their entire married life in St. George, raising their family in their home on 200 South and spending treasured time at their cabin in Pine Valley. Enid loved the beautiful flowers and watching the many hummingbirds that gathered at the feeders there.

Enid loved visiting with and being around people. Her family and friends will always remember her contagious laugh and her quick wit.

Enid was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings throughout the years. She especially enjoyed her callings in Relief Society and Primary.

She is preceded in death by all of her siblings, her husband, Kay, her son, Joe and his wife, Marci, and her great-granddaughter, Jayci Glover. Her posterity includes two daughters, four sons, 23 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. George 8th Ward chapel, 166 South Main Street, St. George, Utah. Interment will take place at the St. George City Cemetery under the care of McArthur Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
