Gary Wilford Tueller January 10, 1948 – June 25, 2026

Gary Wilford Tueller passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 10, 1948, Gary lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Gary shared nearly 57 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Marilyn. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and adventure as they raised their two sons, Booker and Travis. He was a devoted husband and a loving father who took great pride in teaching his boys everything he knew. As a family, they spent countless hours camping, fishing, boating, windsurfing, sailing, and water skiing, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Gary's family was his greatest source of pride and joy.

Gary graduated from Granite High School in 1966, where he played football, participated in school plays, and sang with the Madrigals. The friendships he formed there lasted throughout his life. One of his family's favorite traditions was gathering around a campfire to listen as Gary played his guitar and sang. A gifted musician, he also played the harmonica and violin, and his music brought people together wherever he went.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he became a general engineering contractor and founded GWT Construction. Through hard work, determination, and integrity, he built a successful business and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.

Gary believed there was always room for one more around the dinner table. As he and Marilyn raised their sons, they often welcomed their sons' friends into their home, treating them like family. Gary was always ready with practical advice, a helping hand, and a kind heart, and many who crossed his path were better for knowing him.

Gary was a man of many passions. He loved restoring and selling classic sports cars and motorcycles, especially Triumph TR3s, TR6s, and Cameros. He was also a licensed pilot who found great joy flying his Mooney airplane to places like Wendover and the Grand Canyon. Some of his happiest memories were made taking his grandchildren on flights over the Bonneville Salt Flats and Antelope Island.

A lifelong dog lover, Gary raised several beloved Standard Poodles, including Hershey, Nessley, Cassey, Chase, and his faithful Airedale, Riely, was never far from his side.

Perhaps more than anything, Gary will be remembered for his quick wit, contagious sense of humor, and generous heart. He had a remarkable way of making people laugh, putting them at ease, and making everyone feel welcome. He affectionately called those he loved "Honey" and "Darling," words that became a signature expression of his warmth and love.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Peggy Tueller, his granddaughter Tabitha and his grandson Zachary.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Tueller; his sons, Booker (Anna Marie) Tueller and Travis (Santos) Tueller; his siblings, Diane Angus, Dennis (Susan) Tueller, and Judy Jackson; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha (Abe), Andrew (Heather), Tyson (Melissa), Zoe (Nick), Anna, Jenny, and Aiden; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Grayson, Hudson, Charlotte, William, Atlas, and Amelia; and many extended family members and treasured friends who will miss his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

Gary leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and adventure. He taught by example, loved without reservation, and found joy in sharing life's simple pleasures with those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, songs, kindness, and the countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

To our darling Gary, every time we look to the sky, we'll smile, knowing you're flying free.

Interment will take place at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Gary's life.
