Gisselle “Gigi” Nanette Lalonde, 36, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on May 30th, 2025.
Gigi was born on November 19th, 1988, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Dinora (Lalonde) Tanner and the late Merrill Camille Lalonde. She was a proud graduate of Brandywine High School, where her creative spirit and vibrant energy began to flourish. An artist at heart, Gigi poured her talents into every area of her life—whether as a hairstylist, entrepreneur, mother or friend.
She was previously married to David James Reed and is survived by her beloved children Isabella Rose Ademski, David Josiah (“DJ”) Reed, and Aaliyah Lynn Reed. Gigi shared the role of parenting with both Matthew Ademski and David Reed. Her legacy lives on through her children, her devoted mother Dinora Tanner, Step Father Roger Tanner, and her cherished siblings Melina Gillis (Thomas E. Gillis), Merrill Fransisco Lalonde, and Iara Lalonde and her Nieces and Nephews, Alma Nicole Wayne (Jackson Wayne), Cecilia Celeste Gillis, foster nephew Angel J. Malave, Brianna Nanette McKinny (Collier McKinny), Fermin Orlando Berrios, Angelina Alma Lalonde and Freya Nanette McKinny.
Professionally, Gigi found great joy and success as a hairstylist, various management positions and as an entrepreneur. She was also deeply committed to her community, giving her time and heart to organizations including Revival City, Switchpoint, Narcotics Anonymous, creating personal fundraising efforts for any needs in her community, and Shine a Light a Las Vegas outreach group dedicated to supporting homeless individuals living in the tunnels beneath the city of Las Vegas.
A true artist, Gigi found joy in painting, music, and singing. She adored dogs and could often be found singing to them with laughter in her voice. Above all, Gigi was a woman of great faith. Her relationship with God grounded her, and she felt His presence in her life daily. Gigi shared her love of Christ openly and often—whether with a sibling, a niece, or someone she’d just met in the grocery store. She ministered in person and online with compassion, wisdom, and sincerity.
Gigi was known for her fierce loyalty, open heart, and fearless honesty. She made everyone feel seen and loved, no matter their background or story. With sayings like “Ya heard,” “Duh,”, “Hellooooo”, “I got it from my momma”, “Whootie Whoooo” and she could bend the word “Ghetto” in so many ways. Gigi embraced life with humor, confidence, and authenticity.
She is preceded in death by her father, Merrill Cammille Lalonde. We know that they are together again, likely singing Cat Stevens’ “Hard Headed Woman”.
