Janis Lynne Wick

Janis Lynne Wick died in her home on August 14, 2025 in the company of her family. She was born on April 28, 1941 in Sandpoint, Idaho and raised in Spokane, Washington. She was the youngest of four sisters. At 18, a surgeon opened her heart and put his finger in her mitral valve in hopes to make it function properly. After that second chance at life, she moved to Ogden, Utah and became a wife and mother of two children.

Janis moved to St. George, Utah later in life as a single woman. She loved the red rock country and worked in the St. George field office of the Bureau of Land Management. She was a voracious reader, a knitter, and an avid Utah Jazz fan. She was a member of the congregation of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

Janis is survived by her daughter Joan, son-in-law Andy, and her granddaughters Lauren, Robyn, and Kelly. She was predeceased by her beloved son John. She also is survived by several nieces and a nephew, who loved her, and a dear cousin.

Janis loved her sweet cat, Vincent, who kept her company to the end. She loved all animals. Instead of cards and flowers, her family, friends and acquaintances are encouraged to make a small donation to an animal rescue organization of their choice. The immediate family will hold a private memorial to honor her life.
