Jerry Eugene Stott

Jerry Eugene Stott was born June 24, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eunice and Leon Stott. He passed away on March 20, 2026, in West Valley City, Utah, surrounded by family.

He was raised in Murray, Utah, and attended Murray High School. Jerry married Carmen Delobel, and they were together for 27 years, raising five children. Later, he married Julie Ann Colonna, and they were together for 31 years until his passing. During that time, he also helped raise her three children.

Jerry was a hardworking husband and father. He was employed by Portland Cement Company for 18 years before attending trade school to become a master welder. He later worked for Prime Machine and Utility Equipment Specialties. After changing trades, he went into business with his wife Julie at Affordable Pest Control until he retired, earning the nickname from his grandkids, "Grandpa Killerbug."

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, with nearly every hobby and passion involving nature. He loved backpacking, windsurfing, and backcountry skiing, to name a few. "Jer Bear" loved spending time with his family, enjoying backyard barbecues, mountain biking, and hiking- anything in the outdoors as long as they were together.

Jerry is survived by his sisters, Peggy (Ken) and Shell (Tom); his loving wife, Julie; his sons, Jerry Jr., Marciano (Danielle), Jason (Judy), and Damian (Mackenzie); his daughter, Teresa (Ken); and his stepchildren, Angela, Randy, and Moneray (Joey). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Verl and Richard, and his sisters, June and Joyce. Jerry chose to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held in his honor.
