Our son, brother and friend Kenyon Kay Staheli (Kenny) passed away in St. George, Utah with his family by his side in the early morning of October 21, 2025 at the age of 55 from chronic respiratory failure. Kenny was born in Northridge, California on December 21, 1969. Just after his third birthday, Kenny joined the family of Ralph and Katherine Staheli, along with siblings, Cindy, Burke, Sherrie and later Randy.
Kenny grew up in Washington, Utah surrounded by cousins that became best friends. He was a talented athlete in multiple sports. He has the notoriety of “hitting the first over the fence home run” at the newly built Washington Little League ball fields and recognized for his ball hitting skills in the Pitch, Hit and Run Competition at age 10.
Kenny played as the starting center for the Pine View Panthers football team. He was known for his giant sized shoes and giant sized heart. As a youth Kenny spent much of his time working with his Dad and family at their farms in Washington and Parowan, Utah, where he learned many of his work skills and made memories with his brothers and cousins. He was a hard worker and was good at operating machinery. Kenny worked in many different jobs throughout the years. He worked in Arizona and Nevada in mining, he worked for Washington City on the road maintenance crew, and at a horse farm in Washington state. Kenny enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and time on Cedar Mountain with his family. He was known for his big hugs and his way of telling you he loved you out loud. He was a gentle giant and was always on the side of giving the underdog a hand up.
Kenny married Teri Judd in Washington, Utah, they later divorced. He married Delanie Drake and from that union came three children; Halle Kay, Jagger, and Holden. Kenny and Delanie were later divorced.
Life can bring so much beauty and so much difficulty, Kenny’s life was one of struggles from abandonment, addiction and incarceration. Much of his life was spent trying to overcome the challenges that come with these struggles. He is now in the loving and understanding arms of his Savior.
