Lorraine passed away peacefully in her sleep and was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim.
Joyful is the best word to describe Lorraine’s personality and that joy, along with her sharp wit and humor, is what she gave to her family and friends. Lorraine was also involved with St. Ferdinand’s 50 Plus Club, a creative writing class, and her swimming exercise class. Lorraine volunteered with the Sylmar Women’s Club, where for many years she delivered uplifting spiritual messages to benefit college scholarships at their two annual fund raisers.
Her honeymoon was spent driving from Chicago to California, visiting several national parks along the way. To her surprise, Jim had purchased a “2-room house” on a dirt road in Sylmar at the far north end of Los Angeles County. Over the years, Lorraine and Jim raised their family and expanded the size of their little house. Lorraine lived in that house from June 1949 until June 2024, an incredible 75 years.
Lorraine is survived by her three sons: Dan and wife Lyn, John and wife Doreen, and Mark and wife Dawn. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Matthew and wife Alyssia, Jeffrey and wife Laura and Joshua, as well as great grandchildren: Abigail, Aila, and Barrett.
