Lyle Parker Meadows

February 5, 1953 – June 24, 2026

Lyle Parker Meadows, 73, passed away on June 24, 2026, in St. George, Utah, from complications of Parkinson's disease.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on February 5, 1953, Lyle lived a life rooted in faith, family, kindness, and joy. He had a gift for finding humor in difficult situations. He never met a dad joke he didn't love, had a movie quote for just about every occasion, and was always ready with a story that could leave everyone around him laughing.

In 1971, Lyle married the love of his life, Janet Meadows. Together they shared 55 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, faith, and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Lyle delighted in life's simple pleasures. He loved a good latte, an éclair, an oatmeal cream pie, an Iceberg milkshake, and just about any sweet treat. He enjoyed music, long walks, family meals at Cracker Barrel, searching for treasures while thrift shopping, spending time in Zion National Park, and celebrating Christmas with the people he loved. Psalm 23 was one of his favorite passages of scripture and a source of comfort throughout his life.

He was generous to his core and would gladly give someone in need the shirt off his back. He had a natural creative streak; whether picking up a pencil, working with his hands, or putting words to paper, whatever he made was worth keeping. He loved animals and took pride in having driven since age 16 without a single traffic ticket.

Lyle is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Meadows; his children, Krista Nelson, Israel Meadows, Elizabeth Wilson, and Aaron Meadows; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Alta Meadows, and his beloved grandchild, Taylor Nelson.

Lyle will be remembered for his generous heart, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the countless ordinary moments that became lifelong memories for those who knew and loved him.

The Meadows family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Canyon Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Lyle and to our family throughout his journey.

The family also wishes to thank the staff at Black Rock Nursing and Rehab for their compassionate care and dedication during his time there.

Memorial services will be held later this year. Details will be announced by the family at a later date.

As we say goodbye, we'll carry his familiar words with us every day: "Watch that traffic out there." He spent a lifetime watching out for the people he loved, and those words said it all.
