Michael Nickolas
Jacobs
February 26, 1949 – June 12, 2026
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Nickolas Jacobs, who peacefully passed away at home on June 12, 2026, in Hurricane, Utah, at the age of 77.
Michael was born on February 26, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to Nickolas and Anna Jacobs. He lived a life defined by hard work, independence, and a deep appreciation for building and creating with his hands. Those who knew him recognized his quiet strength, practical wisdom, and steady presence.
Michael built his career as a crane operator and heavy-duty mechanic, where his skill, precision, and strong work ethic earned the respect of those around him. He took great pride in his ability to fix, rebuild, and bring things back to life. His passion extended well beyond his profession—he loved working on cars, rebuilding engines, and spending time with friends building race cars. These pursuits reflected not only his mechanical talent, but also the relationships and camaraderie he valued.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his daughters, Kelly and Wendy, along with their families. He is also remembered by many extended family members and many friends whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nickolas Michael Jacobs; his mother, Anna Julianna Hernschall; and his brother, Mathew Vincent Jacobs.
Michael will be remembered for his dedication, craftsmanship, and the way he connected with others through shared work and simple, meaningful moments. His legacy lives on in the things he built, the knowledge he shared, and the family who will always carry his memory forward.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and staff at Dixie Hospice, whose compassionate and exceptional care over the past two months brought comfort and dignity to Michael’s final days. They were truly angels in the way they cared not only for him, but also for his family during this time.
Michael will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later time, when family and friends can gather together to honor and remember him.
Forever remembered, deeply missed, and always loved.
