Michael Charles
Leach, Sr.
Dec 25, 1954 — Sep 12, 2026
Santa Clara
Michael Charles Leach Sr. passed away following complications related to Parkinson’s disease and dementia on Saturday, September 12, at the Southern Utah Veterans Home, with his son at his side.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Teddy; his mother, Katie; his brother, Jim; and his sister, Judy.
He is survived by his son, Michael Jr.; his grandson, Brenden; his granddaughters, Caitlyn and Bella; and his great-grandson, Kaizen.
Mike also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews: Debora, Kathryn, Kimberly, Ricky, Randy, Jim Jr, and Greg.
Mike had a lifelong love of music and was an accomplished guitarist. He also loved to sing, whether it was one of his original songs, worship songs, or karaoke with his son and friends. Music was not simply something he enjoyed; it was a meaningful part of his life and a way he connected with his family and friends.
Mike proudly served in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that would eventually lead to a lasting career in the aerospace industry. His work ethic and commitment to service continued in another important part of his life as he served in several worship ministries over the years, sharing his love of Christ with others through music.
Mike was also a fan of baseball and basketball and occasionally attended baseball games with his brother Jim.
Mike will be remembered for the laughter, the music, the stories, and all of the good times shared along his life’s journey. He was a bit of a character who enjoyed humor and shared many laughs with friends and family. He wasn't afraid to share his opinion and sometimes, Mike would even give a glimpse into his true heart... a heart full of love and gratitude. Those are the memories his family and friends will carry with them.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to savethemusic.org as Mike’s memory would be best honored by continuing to share music with others.
A memorial service will be arranged with close family and friends at a later date.
