Nicholas Hugh Storey, age 44, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at home in Washington, Utah.
Nick was born on Aug. 1, 1981, to Vickie and Dan Storey, in Lewiston. He joined his big sister, Sarah, and made the family complete.
Nick attended McSorely Elementary, Jenifer Junior High and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1999. Nick played baseball from the time he could throw a ball and into high school. His mom’s wonderful cooking started him on one of his favorite things in life – eating. In his adult life he lived in Eureka, Calif., Portland, Ore., Boise, and Washington, Utah.
Nick will be remembered for his ability to fix almost anything. He loved working on cars and always had a project, or two, or more going.
He was always willing to help a friend. As a child, he would befriend the kid who needed a friend. He was a very thoughtful person who loved to help and give to those he cared about. He gave his partner, mom and daughter the most thoughtful gifts for no special reason or occasion, just because he saw something that made him think of them and wanted them to have it.
He was known for not only being the hardest worker anywhere he went, but also the smartest. He was very clever at workarounds and tackling even the most difficult project.
At the time of his passing, Nick was employed by Tesla Energy Operations, Inc. He was excited about the future of large-scale battery pack storage (Megapack) and being a part of it.
Nick was passionate about watching sports and sports commentary shows. He would have them on every TV in the house and the garage so he didn’t miss anything as he walked from room to room.
On July 27, 2003, the sunshine of his life was born. Jaycee Marie was her daddy’s girl from day one. Nick and Jaycee’s mother, Alicia, were married June 18, 2005. Although the marriage did not last, they were good co-parents.
Nick met Kimberlee Stratton while living in Boise in 2013. She became his life partner, always by his side through all the ups and downs. Theirs was a true and deeply connected love. They faced many hard times as a team, a “power couple,” as he used to say. One of his joys in life was her almost daily homemade meals and treats. His crazy comments and sharp wit kept life fun.
Nick is survived by his partner Kimberlee Stratton of Washington, Utah; his mother, Vickie Storey of Clarkston; daughter, Jaycee Storey of Portland, Ore.; sister, Sarah Storey of Clarkston; nieces River Redwoman and Maryssa Clements, nephew Graydon Redwoman, one great-nephew and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Storey; grandparents Wayne and Edna Martin, Graydon and Betty Jo Storey, and LaVerne Forgey.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Lewiston First United Methodist Church, 1906 Broadview Drive, Lewiston, and also on Sunday, June 14, at 2 pm at their home in Washington (St. George), Utah.
