Nyal D Littlefield (1956-2026)

In his chosen words: “He was here, now he’s gone.”

Now in ours:

Nyal D Littlefield, 69, of St. George moved on to his next adventure surrounded by family on May 29, 2026.

Nyal was born in Orem, UT as the youngest of 6 children. He spent his youth giving his parents gray hair and living a life of fun and laughs with his siblings. He met Cherri–his Gert, mew, adventure partner, and the love of his life–and they recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. He learned the trade of natural gas from his dad and worked as a “gas guy” for Mountain Fuel/Questar Gas. He retired in 2012, and he and Cherri soaked up every minute they could laughing, serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, going on adventures, and spending time with family and friends.

He loved to stop at any lemonade stand or yard sale he could find, tease his bride (MEW), and work with his hands. We loved watching his hands glide over the controls of a backhoe and the joy on his face when holding a fishing pole. He spent his life working hard and playing hard, serving others, laughing any chance he could, and enjoying cups of ice cold milk.

His favorite roles in life were being a stubborn and loving husband, the best dad, and a very proud grandpa. The man who could solve any problem, fix anything that broke, and turn everything into a good laugh (mew) has left a lasting legacy to all who knew him.

He is welcomed home by his son T.J. Littlefield; parents Milt and Helen Littlefield; parents-in-law Robert and Zenna Mae Winn; brothers Gary (Enid) Littlefield and Rick Littlefield; sister Launa (Dee) Street; sister-in-law Lori Winn; and many other beloved family and friends.

The legacy he left will continue through his wife, Cherri Littlefield; daughters Didi (Troy) Hoskins and Tricia (Nick) Williams; grandchildren Michael (currently serving a mission in the Philippines), Logan, Lance, and Ethan Hoskins, and grandbaby Williams on the way (He has been excitedly waiting to share this news!); sister Becky (Brent) Sumner; brother Brent (Joyce) Littlefield; brothers-in-law George (Marnie) Winn and Mark Winn; along with many extended family members and friends who will greatly miss him.

We invite all who would like to attend a visitation on Friday, June 5th from 6:00-7:30 PM at the McArthur Funeral Home. We will then FINALLY 'stop looking at him and go eat' after a graveside service on Saturday, June 6th at 10:00 AM at the Tonaquint Cemetery (1777 S. Dixie Dr., St. George, UT).

In lieu of flowers, we would love memories that can be preserved for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Please send stories, memories, photos, etc. to nyaldlittlefield@gmail.com
