Stephen Max Larkin, age 82, passed away Thursday June 18th at the Dixie Regional Medical Center after battling complications from a heart attack a few days earlier. His beloved wife Dorothy Ann Allen (Larkin) passed away nearly 1 year prior on June 20th, 2025. A viewing will be held on Friday the 26th from 10-10:50am with the funeral service at 11am at the church located at 166 S Main Street, St. George, Utah, 84770

Stephen was born July 3rd, 1943 to Conrad Joseph Larkin & Mildred Brunker (Larkin) in Brigham City, Utah. He grew up with and is survived by his 4 brothers Donald, Richard, Roger and James. His Sister Ruth was born and passed in 1940. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the North Central United States. He served for 4 years in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged June 30th, 1968.

He married and was sealed to his beloved Dorothy Ann Allen (he often called her “Sweetie Pie” or just “Pie” for short) on April 30th, 1965 in the St George Temple, for time and all eternity. They were blessed with and are survived by all 8 of their children: David Larkin, Robert Larkin, Scott Larkin, Kathleen Riley, Lisa Uchytil, Crystal Pendleton, Stephanie Milner, & Michelle Olson as well as most of their grand and great grandchildren.

Stephen liked to spend time with his brothers growing up. They liked to go up in the mountains, especially Zion’s canyon, and tube the virgin river. Family was important to Stephen, he and his family participated in large family reunions with his brother’s families and continued these traditions with his family as it grew.

Stephen was always a people person. He could strike up a conversation and keep it rolling. This made him a natural for his career as a Medical Recruiter. His employment took him to many different places and he often brought back something for his children.

Stephen’s faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was well known. He was often called upon to teach. He was a good teacher, knowledgeable, thoughtful and bold. His testimony of Jesus Christ will long be remembered and missed.

Stephen & Dorothy loved to watch movies. Stephen particularly enjoyed war movies and musicals. Later in their lives they enjoyed playing games with their children, and their families, when they visited.

Stephen and Dorothy celebrated their 60th anniversary in April 2025 just a few months before her passing. He missed her very much this past year and we know their reunion was sweet.

Stephen will be greatly missed.
