Terrance ”Terry” Michael Oldfield

March 17, 2026

Terry was born October 5, 1953 in Fresno, California to Robert Yale Oldfield and Inez Barbara Oldfield (Grefrath). He grew up primarily in Clovis, California and graduated in 1971 from McClain High School. Terry moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1972 with his high school sweetheart Denise, where they married soon after. While in Cheyenne the couple welcomed their first child, Chris. Terry landed a clerk position with Mini Mart convenience store. His work ethic was easily recognized and he began to climb the ranks. He was promoted to management and relocated to Laramie, Wyoming for about two years. He was promoted again and relocated to Casper, Wyoming where the family welcomed their second child, Michelle. Terry thrived at Mini Mart for 25 years earning the position of Vice President. In 1998, a Mini Mart business merger sent Terry and Denise to Pueblo, Colorado. After seven years in Pueblo, Terry retired for the first time, and moved to Meridian, Idaho to be closer to Chris’ family. While in Meridian, he came out of retirement to work for Renova Energy and ultimately bought the company. In 2016, he sold the company and officially retired. He and Denise then decided to pursue mountain living in Garden Valley, ID. They loved living in the mountains, however in 2016, they decided to become snowbirds and bought a second house in St. George, Utah. Terry and Denise found the benefits of retired life and began to travel more. They pursued their love of road trips around the southwest and beyond. After two winters in Garden Valley, they had enough of the snow and in 2018 the cabin was sold. In St. George, he fully embraced retirement and acquired his fourth beloved Corvette, the C7. He became a member of multiple car clubs including Roadrunners, Color Country Corvette Club and Desert Rodders Car Club. Terry’s health began to steadily decline. He was going to the hospital more frequently with increasing severity. On March 15, Terry decided he had spent enough time in hospitals. With the support of his family, he decided to enter home hospice and came home that day. 36 hours later, Terry passed in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.

Terry is survived by Denise Oldfield (Skaggs), St. George, son Christopher Oldfield, Vista, California, Michelle Oldfield (Jeff Phillips), Evanston, Illinois, granddaughter Kryshelle Oldfield-Gregson (Chris Gregson) Vista, California and grandson Ethan Phillips-Oldfield, Evanston, Illinois, brother Rodney Oldfield (Anita), Modesto, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Inez, his brothers Dennis, Bobby, Timmy, and Kevin and his sister Roine Presnall.
