VIRGINIA BAN-EG HULSE
December 14, 1942 - October 31, 2025
Virginia Ban-eg Hulse, aka Virgie, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in St. George, Utah on October 31, 2025, following an extraordinarily adventurous life. Virginia is survived by her husband of 38 years David Hulse; daughter, Theresa Yvette Bondad; son, Dr. Patrick Bondad (Eugenia); three grandchildren and many many other family members in the United States and Philippines.
Virginia was born on December 14, 1942 in Pingad, Sabangan, Mountain Province, Philippines to Arsenio " Ban-eg" Yaya and Genita Guduen. As a child she survived the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II by hiding in caves with her siblings. After the end of the World War IL,. she was raised by many of her relatives at various times until at the age of 17 when she arrived in New York with a small handbag containing a only few clothes and a prayer book. Shortly, after arriving in America, Virginia was married and had a son Patrick and daughter Theresa She moved with her husband and young family to San Diego, California where for many years she was the proud owner of a successful beauty salon in Chula Vista, California. In 1984, with her children in college, Virginia moved to Hawaii where in 1986 where she met her current husband of 38 years, David Hulse.
Virginia loved traveling throughout the United States in Europe with Dave having visited all 50 states and three trips to Europe, and one trip to the holy land in Israel and the pyramids of Egypt. Her favorite thing to collect were rocks from each of the many places she visited. Dave would often find rocks stashed away in the suitcase when they got home.
Her blessings in life exploded when she became a grandmother to Annalisa, Lauren, and Michael. Then life once again blessed her as a great grandmother with Annalisa's daughters, Ava and Olivia.
Her family will remember Virginia for her great love for God which she shared with us at every opportunity. And we will miss her greatly... so blessed were we to have had such a faithful believer cheer us on in life. Well done good and faithful servant.
