Wayne Rodney Lindsey was born on June 27, 1943, in Price, Utah, to Joel Ammon Lindsey and Sarah Ardella Rich Lindsey. He passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, in St. George, Utah, surrounded by his loving family.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wayne lived a life of faith and service. He served faithfully as a bishop, in a stake presidency, and as patriarch in the Mountain View Stake in Payson, Utah. His lifelong dedication to the gospel and others was guided by his unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ.
On September 7, 1963, Wayne was sealed to his eternal companion, Marjorie Arlene Olsen, in the Manti Temple. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Their marriage was blessed with six children, and over the years their family grew to include 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Wayne dedicated over 40 years to Radiology at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, where he was respected for his professionalism and admired for his compassion toward patients and colleagues. He also gave countless hours to the Boy Scouts of America, mentoring young men and earning the prestigious Silver Beaver Award for his outstanding service.
After retirement, Wayne and Marjorie ran their family business, Clear Creek Kettle Corn, for more than 10 years, delighting in working together and connecting with their community. They also served a mission in Charlotte, North Carolina, among the Catawba people, an experience that deepened their love for the gospel and their service to others.
Wayne cherished family time—whether at the Clear Creek cabin or simply around the table at home. His greatest legacy was his love for his family, and he treasured every moment spent together.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, their children: Jason Lindsey (MaryAnn), Angela Killian (Todd), Steven Lindsey (Wendy), Nathan Lindsey (Heidi), Spencer Lindsey (Brooke), and Kathryn Hansen (Blaine), as well as many of his grandchildren and all of his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three grandchildren.
Wayne will be remembered for his steady faith, quiet strength, and unfailing kindness. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and patriarch whose greatest legacy is the faith, love, and example he leaves with his posterity. His influence lives on through his family, who carry forward his values and the cherished memories of his life.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Dixie Home Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.
